how can i get pictures to fit "just right" behind my blog title? This is so frustrating. I feel like i have no creative control over my blog and I am clueless as to how to remedy that.

oh, boy. there is NO WAY to center it. if i remember right, you can't edit the settings on blogger. in other programs you can crop your photo/resize as you like, but i don't think you can here.
the photo is great, though. worth keeping.
but it used to drive me crazy too!!!

I rember occasionally having this problem at wordpress, too. it was very random when it happened, but occasionally my header picture would be WAY huge and I could never figure out how to make it the "perfect" size. The same scenario keeps happening to me over here at blogger. I wonder how people get such creative headers on their blogs.....
irfanview is a nifty little picture editing program that is small/light weight and really useful. You can edit your photos to the right size in there or you could maybe frame the picture (put a border around it) to make smaller pictures fit. Just an idea if you want to try it out. Doesn't Google Picasa have tools to edit the photos also? Good luck!
