goat fun

The babies are growing and are developing such personalities. Apparently, jumping on sheep is a new hobbie.

What a patient mom to let her little one jump all over her. Does this look all too familiar, mothers???

yes, or no?

Should we adopt this little rascal? This picture cannot capture how absolutely, fantastically, adorable and tiny this little creature is. He was scared of getting his picture taken, but once I set him back in his cage he was silly and playful. His ears are truly like that. It seems he is mixed with something special. And his eyes are HUGE!
What I really want is another dog, though. But I had to share this guy with you.

love sees no color...

... and apparently no species, either! ;)
A class mate sent me these pictures. Enjoy!! :)

"She is fostering this guy for another mom who couldn't take care of him. He had his eyes closed, but now they are open. He is just a little bigger than her other pups. She loves this little guy more than the other puppies and she is nursing him back to health. He is the cleanest puppy ever because she licks him all the time."

thinking of summer

I'm thinking of summer.
I decided to show you pictures from last summer when we first got here, since I didn't attempt to upload pictures to my blog via dial-up at the time. These pictures were taken at the first place we rented when we first got here. The pics don't lie. The view was amazing.

This is a flag I took a picture of from a local "hippie fest" (as I affectionately call it) last summer. I liked the message. I made a flag too, but I forgot to take a picture of it.

Happy Valentine's Day

This story is a true example of the power of love. I found out about Oogy on Oprah's Valentine's Day Special.

I love these stories. They recharge my soul and remind me of my purpose and the power we have as human beings to make this world a better place.

I hope this story reminds you about the power of love, as it has me.

Happy Valentine's Day!

snow

This is me happy because Ladd fixed my camera and saved me $300. However, now that I have done so much research as well as researching my Nokia, I am considering geting something different anyway. Something with image stabilization. We'll see..
Yes, I am quite aware that I need a haircut. Oh, how I miss Erin...

this is a picture I'm sharing because I like it.

And finally, the snow...
Kristin, I see your basketball and raise you a picnic table and storage bin. :)

Here is the parking lot at Target. Its not an exact example of how much snow has fallen here the past few weeks, but its pretty damn close. The roads never get too bad though and its never really ridiculously cold. I think its because we're in the valley, but also because the wind doesn't really blow a whole lot here.

mmmbaaaaaaaa

Ahhh, the baby goats... and, lambs, too!!
The goats are now about 2 weeks old, but don't loook much bigger or different than when they were 2 days old. The lambs are less than a week old.
Oh, I am in heaven.

These 2 are twins. There mother died after a horribly troubled and painful birth. They ahve perservered through the students' and doctors' care and bottle feeding milk from another mother goat who gave birth at the same time. They have obviously grown quite well, regardless of their hardships. The one on the right is affectionately called Jerry G (for Jerry Garcia). He was named by a student and little Jerry seems to be convinced that we students are is mamas. :) He especially is attracted to Jen, who is the one I think named him. She is trying to convince her husband that they should adopt him and she WON'T bring him inside the house.... at least not immediately, she says. :)

This is Hermes. He's an adult. Totally awesome. He follows you and nibbles on you. So cool. So gentle.

powder puff girl

The snow will not stop! Its amazing, really. Ladd's boss told me today that he hasn't seen this much snow since 1991. I will upload pictures soon! We keep shoveling our sidewalk and are developing walls of snow on each side, because it JUST KEEPS COMING!!
One of the reasons I was excited to move out to Colorado was because they have real winters here. Snow - not freezing rain. Sun. Beautiful evergreens. Colorado has welcomed me with quite a winter show. We really should go skiing, at some point! :)
Spring will be amazing with the wildflowers for viewing, and the river's rapids will be fierce and fast for rafting. Can't wait.

feeling blah

Oh, I have pictures to share. I have no enthusiasm to upload and show them to you.
I am feeling blah.
I get waves of severe fatigue off and on throughout the year, without any clue as to what triggers it. I'm generally a very fatigued person. In middle school and high school, I would yawn repeatedly during calisthetics and running during track and volleyball practice, even though I was in great shape.
So, its never been exercise related, I never thought food related, Doctors can't pinpoint any biological reason, and so I just have to deal.
I imagine my waves of fatigue could be irritated by SAD and stress - or even regular depression, which I have to battle with randomly throughout the year.
But I'm starting to think it can very well be related to food. In the allergy sense. I've been doing some reading and learning alot more about food and its impact on you on a cellular and physiological level, since working at a health food store. I am thinking I very well may be allergic to gluten. From what I have read, it could explain a lot of health problems I've had throughout my life, including now. Including my problems as an infant.
I am ordering a book from amazon and will hopefully learn more. I wish I could afford an allergy test, still. It would be nice to know EVERYTHING I am allergic to - if anything at all.
Until then, I will be learning about gluten and its impact on my body. Elliminating wheat - whole wheat bread (duh), triscuits, saltines - all staples in my "eat on the run" lifestyle. Did you know gluten is even in soy sauce? This is going to be a challenge that I might not be up to.

a tech-y thumb

Whooopeee!

My husband, in all his glory with tech stuff, has FIXED my camera!!! No more contemplating on how much to spend, what to get, and when to get it. I have my camera back!

So, with much pleasure, I will soon be bringing you pictures of our new baby goats that were born last week at the vet tech farm! How amazing these little furry creatures are. They were playing and frolicking at just a day old! I am in HEAVEN!!!! Do you think goats like apartment style living? Hmmmm....
