I NEED A CAMERA!!!!
Does anybody have any suggestions for a digital camera??? What do you readers out there use? I want something that takes good indoor and outdoor pictures. Video is not a must but would be great to have, I think. Different color modes. The ability to focus up close and produce high resolution pics is kind of necessary. Any thoughts or suggestions would be great. I feel naked without my camera!

NO, I have no advice, but am in the same place you are -- asking for advice. I'm starting to really lean towards a point and shoot, just so I can have a digital camera to carry with me everywhere.. then eventually I'll upgrade to a swanky, impressive Digital SLR that I will impress myself with everyday... at least that's the thought right now.

We got the Canon PowerShot A570 (with image stabilization, that's the key) before we went to Germany and I love love love it. I am photographically disabled and even I manage to poop out the occasional good photo with it. It takes stunning video, too.
we have a canon powershot a630...the best part of it is the ability to focus at 1 cm!!!
hey welcome to blog spot!!! try the canon SD 1000, i just used it on a trip and was very happy with it. of course, it's my first camera, so maybe i'm just impressed with nothing special.

I got a Canon Powershot A720. Its a couple steps up from the one I borrowed with a friend. It has more of what I was interested in, yet was still an economical purchase. See my blog for recent pics, and the model I bought. Love ya!
